I am walking in the "March for Babies", which is the annual walk for the March of Dimes. Our MOMS Club decided to have a team this year, which I am very excited about!
This organization is very close to my heart, as I have several friends who have had premature births, some ending in devastation.
I have suffered two miscarriages, so I know how important this organization is. It helps women w/ pregnancies, and with losses. They have a wonderful support page on their main website that deals with losses. They also have wonderful tips on healthy pregnancies.
I am so thankful to have a healthy 2 yr. old boy! So I am thankful that there are organizations, like the "March of Dimes", out there that support women through developement and research, so that they may have healthy babies too!
If you would like to sponser me, you can click on the above link, and do so online!
Thanks from me, and from the "March of Dimes", for your support!!

Update on my Mom....
Hey everyone! Thank you so much for all the well wishes, and most of all, prayers for my mom!
I am happy to report that she is doing much better! She had surgery on Monday, they removed her gall bladder. They were able to do the laparoscopy, which is better. All of her other symptoms are much better too. She is just very sore right now, but she's home from the hospital, and doing well!
Again, thanks for everyone for their prayers!!

My Mom......
My Mom has been really sick for a couple of weeks now. She's had a fever and nothing would bring it down, and she's been in pain. She went to the Dr. on Thursday again, and they ended up putting her in the hospital, mostly to run tests. Finally, late Friday they decided it was her Gall Bladder. It has stopped working and was starting to affect her liver, etc.
She is still in the hospital, and will be having surgery to remove it on Monday. I will be going over to be with her tomorrow.
She is not one to sit around and do nothing, so staying in the hospital is not making her very happy!!
Please include her in your prayers, that she will be ok during the surgery, and that her recovery time will short.

Crazy Weather....
What's up with this crazy weather we've been having?? All last week if was almost 70 degrees, one day it was 72 degrees and sunny! I was really having some "spring fever"! Then, Friday it was cloudy/rainy, but still very warm. Friday night we had tornados close by, THEN, Saturday morning, we woke up to snow falling and frigid temps??? Today it's sunny, and a little warmer than yesterday, and much less wind...ahhh.
We go from sunny and warm, to stormy, then snow and freezing, and back to sunny.....all in one week!!! Crazy isn't it??

I've been tagged......
So, I've never done this on here, but since I was tagged by a great friend, I'm gonna do it!
I don't have 7 other people to tag, and I'm not sure how to link the ones I have?? So, I'll just drop them a note saying they've been tagged!
Here are the rules I received:
Link to your tagger and post these 3 rules on your blog. Share 7 facts about yourself on your blog, some random, some weird. Tag 7 people at the end of your post by leaving their names as well as links to their blogs. Let them know they are tagged by leaving a comment on their blog.
Here are my 7 random/weird facts about myself! LOL
1) I was scared to change Nathan's diapers in the hospital when he was first born, so I didn't until I got home w/ him?? Brian did almost everything in the hospital...except feed him!
(I didn't grow up around babies, so I was a little nervous with them...I've definitly overcome that!)
2) I love meeting new people! That comes in handy since I'm the VP of Membership for the MOMS Club that I'm in. I get to meet all the new moms!
3) I've had 5 surgeries....
4) I was once a Juvenile Probation Officer for the State of Alabama. (loved it!)
5) I was a majorette in high school and college.
6) I LOVE to eat black olives out of a can!! And I LOVE anything w/ spinach on it!
7) When I was pregnant, I craved hotdogs, vegetables, and birthday cake!
Well...that's it! Those are some random/weird facts about myself! WOW....haven't you learned a lot!!! HAHA
I'm looking forward to reading other fellow bloggers facts!

Looking forward to things....
Last night a great friend of mine and I were talking about how important it is to have something to look forward to. We are both stay at home moms, which we both love, however it can be very hard at times. Being a stay at home mom has so many wonderful advantages, although one of the disadvantages is not having that work social connection or paycheck (lol). At most of my previous jobs, I have become good friends with some of my coworkers. You enjoy going to lunch or breaktime w/ them and talking, going on business trips, having a work Christmas party, etc. In most of my previous jobs, I always had something to look forward to, for example, payday, vacation time, yearly bonus, promotions, business trip, days off, etc. So it's just as important to have things to look forward to while being a stay at home mom. Don't get me wrong, everyday you get to wake up and be with your children is a day to look forward to! However, I just like to have a few small things to be looking forward to as well!
It is also important to have close friends & family you can talk to, and have a social connection.
I am in a MOMS Club, which is a great social connection! You meet other SAHM's, and do things w/ them throughout the week. This gives you a chance to talk to other adults, and gives the kids a chance to play with other children. Church is another great connection to have!
A Psychologist in a magazine I was reading once said, "having something to look forward too, is wonderful & important for your mental health, as well as your physical health, and will help you beat the winter blues." I totally agree with this!
So, I just thought I would share a few of the things I'm looking forward to, both big and small!
-Easter
I love reading books about Easter to Nathan, and getting goodies for his Easter basket!
Our MOMS Club is also having an Easter egg hunt/Easter party for the kids, this should be a
lot of fun too!
We will also hunt eggs w/ my niece, Kalyn, which Nathan loves to do!
-my book club meets tonight, so I'm excited about having a night out w/ the girls! :-)
-Going to Six Flags to see the new Thomas Town!
Nathan is a huge Thomas fan, so he is going to love the new Thomas the Train attraction at Six
Flags! I'll love riding some roller coasters! LOL
-Going to the beach this summer!
-Babies!
I have a ton of friends having babies this summer! I'm so excited for them all! I found out today
that my cousin is having TWINS!
-Our 10 year wedding anniversary this summer! WOW!
Ok, so I think that's enough postings for today, whew! When I say I'm going to catch up, I guess I mean it! (not when it comes to laundry though!) LOL

Spring Fever!
A Visit With a Friend....
Last week a friend of mine from Baltimore, Cara, came to Atlanta for business. We got to meet downtown one night for dinner, which was great!! I have missed all of my friends from Maryland so much! So, when I heard she was coming to town, I was so excited! Brian, Nathan, and I picked her up from her hotel and we went to Atlantic Station to have dinner at Copeland's Cheesecake Bistro, which is very child-friendly! We had a great time catching up! She will actually get to come once a year for work now, so I'm glad to hear this!
Nathan was only 2 months old the last time she saw him, he's now 2 1/2! So, it had been a while!
I'm so happy we got to spend some time together! I'm hoping to plan a trip up to Maryland sometime soon so I can see everyone! It's been too long.
Thanks Cara for taking time out of your busy schedule to spend some time with us! It was great seeing you!

Nathan had to make his funny "cheese" face for the pictures! LOL

I'm how old???
It sure seems like the years go by so fast lately!! My birthday was last week, I had a good one. I was a little sick that day still, so Brian stayed home, which was great!! He and Nathan went shopping and came back with a cake, flowers, and a balloon. We ate lunch, then Nathan couldn't wait to blow out the candles! He LOVES to blow out candles! So I, of course, let him blow out the 3 candles Brian put on the cake. (thank goodness he didn't put the other 30!ha) Nathan sang Happy Birthday about 20 times that day, which was too cute. I guess we'll see how fast this year goes by....hopefully not too fast!!
Fingerpainting Fun!
I said I would post some pictures of our fingerpainting fun, so here they are! Nathan loved getting his hands "dirty" w/ all the paints. He also loved mixing the colors together to form new colors. He would mix and swirl and stamp his hand on the paper. When Daddy got home the first thing Nathan said was, "look Daddy at my painting!" He was so excited! This craft made our "sick" week go by a little better!

Where does the "time" go???
So, where does the time go?? It's been a busy couple of weeks around our house. We have all been sick for about 2 weeks now, off and on. (ugh!) I started off w/ bronchitis, then I pulled a muscle in my neck from coughing, which is still very sore?? Then my dear husband caught my bronchitis, and then Nathan got sick! We are all finally feeling better! YAY!
However, during all of this sickness, I haven't felt like doing much (ie. cooking, laundry, laundry, and more laundry!) LOL So, needless to say, my laundry is severely behind! We worked on it all weekend, and I still have 2 loads to do, and a lot to put away! I told myself I would NEVER let it get this behind again!
I also have a lot of pictures I need to download! During our "sick" time, we were in the house....a lot! So, Nathan and I did some fingerpainting for the first time! He LOVED it! I'll post pictures as soon as I download them!
The weather was also very nice this past weekend, so we've been outside a lot lately! I am really having some "spring fever" lately! Although, I watched "Jon & Kate plus 8" last night,(love this show!). They were in Park City, Utah and it was snowing and so beautiful, so it made me a little sad that we probably won't be having anymore snow this year. I feel like winter was very short this year?? ( I guess most people are thinking that's a good thing!) Oh well, I'm sure the next sunny day we have I'll be excited about Spring again!!
Since it's almost time for me to go pick up Nathan from "mother's morning out", I guess I better get back to that laundry!
Have a great day!
ps, does anyone out there in the "blog world" watch "Guiding Light"??? Nathan is usually napping during that show and I've watched it since I was in high school, I know......that's sad. It has gotten SOOOO GOOD!!!! If you haven't watched it in a while, start watching, it's better than ever!!! LOL
