What A Week.....

WOW, it's been 10 days since I've blogged and SO much has happened! I'm going to try to play catch up!
First, I have to start this blog off with so much thankfulness to God. He has blessed me in so many ways this week!
One of my best friends called me on Monday night to let me know she was surprisingly pregnant! It was a surprise to her and her husband as well!! A wonderful MIRACLE!! She has been told it would be almost impossible for her to get pregnant unless she had medical intervention. But, GOD is in control! Most everyone that reads this knows her story, they have tried for years to have a baby. Three years ago she became pregnant with triplets and they were born too early. They held on for as long as they could, all three passed away. A year ago last Monday, she found out the baby she was carrying's heart had stopped beating. So, with two pregnancies ending in devastation, and with the medical issues she has, they decided to adopt. They have been on the adoption list for almost a year now. So, when I got the phone call from her Monday night saying she was pregnant, I just couldn't stop crying!! Of course they were happy tears! Last Monday night was exactly a year ago that I got a call from her with the sad news of the miscarriage. I couldn't stop crying then either. I'm so thankful that this year they were happy tears! She is actually 18 weeks pregnant and found out they are having a baby GIRL!! God kept this a secret from her til now so she wouldn't worry herself sick. She and the baby are doing great! We are all so happy for them and they will continue to be in our prayers! I ask that each of you reading this will also include them in your prayers, they have been through so much. They are going to be such wonderful parents!
God is so Faithful and loving!

Other happenings this week included me coming down with Bronchitis.....ugh!! It was winter break for our school system this week so Nathan didn't have Mother's Morning Out, or Music Class. Bless his heart, he has been home with me everyday stuck in front of the television or playing by himself, because I have felt so bad! I didn't want to get right in his face and spread my germs to him, since the type of Bronchitis I had was very contagious. Luckily, my sweet husband went in to work late a couple of mornings, so I could go to the Dr. and sleep. And, he came home early from work one of the days it was pretty, so he and Nathan could play outside. Thankfully the Doctor gave me some medicine that worked, and I'm starting to feel a lot better! Nathan was so sweet and good for me while I felt bad. He is such a joy!
I am including a couple of pictures of Nathan with his new smile!! LOL
Everytime I tell him to say cheese for a picture now, he gives me a new silly look! Of course, his dad and I think it's too cute! The first picture is from Valentine's Day after we gave him his gift. And the next picture is of him on his tricycle with his fireman hat and boots on. :-) He just learned how to ride it really good last month, so he's on it all the time now!
Have a great weekend!!

Favorite things...

Wow, where does the time go?? Nathan turned 2 1/2 yesterday! I was just looking at some pictures I have taken recently of him and realized they are pictures of the things he loves best! Just thought I would share what Nathan is really "into" right now. This will also help me when I FINALLY start to get caught up in my scrapbooks!

First, he absolutly LOVES going to Papaw and Nana's house! He loves riding on his papaw's tractor!

The 2nd thing he loves to do right now is play in the kitchen! I think he started really liking this after he watched "Ratatouille"! He loves to transfer water from one bowl to the next. He loves to stir the water too!

The third thing he loves to do is to lay like this on the couch while we read him books, or he watches a movie. Some of his favorite movies right now are, "Nemo", "Ratatouille", and a "VeggieTales" movie.
Some of his favorite books right now are, "Hop on Pop", a "Dora" Valentine book, and a fish book we bought at the aquarium.

There are many other things he's really "into" right now like, riding his tricycle, playing w/ his friends and his cousin Kalyn, and playing w/ his geotrax or Thomas trains.
As you can see below, he LOVES to play in his playroom, which is why it looks like a disaster area at the end of the day!!
Anyway, I know this blog wasn't all that interesting to you all out there in the "blog world". But I really needed to "write" this all down so I will remember what he's into at this age, so I can fill in the scrapbook......when I finally get to it!
"What time is it?" Time to go get ready for our Valentine party w/ Nathan's playgroup!!
Have a wonderful Valentine's Day!!

Music Class.....again!

Well it's that time again.....time to decide if we sign up for our music class or not. Nathan and I have been taking a music class since last Fall called "Tiny Tunes". It is part of "The Music Class" curriculum. It's a wonderful class that teaches tunes, different rhythms, movement, and they get to play w/ parachutes, balls, and a variety of musical instruments. Nathan LOVES this class!
I had decided, since we have been doing it for a while, that we would skip the spring session. However, today we went and Nathan had such a great time, singing, dancing, playing the drums, and playing w/ the BIG parachute, that I decided I couldn't take him out of it right now. He asks about music class when he wakes up sometimes, and at some of the strangest times?? We'll be in Target shopping and he'll say, "I wanna go to music class mommy". His face lights up when I tell him we're going to music class! Ms. Jenny is Nathan's teacher, she is wonderful. So, we decided to sign up again for the Spring session. I knew we would not be going in the summer, so it just made sense to sign up for spring so he could get some more "parachute" time in!!

At the beginning of the session you get a songbook and a CD. Nathan wants to listen to the CD everytime we're in the car....he loves it! (the tunes also get stuck in mommy's head!) :-)

If a music class is offered in your area for children, I highly recommend it!

For more information on "The Music Class" go to http://www.themusicclass.com/ .

Below are some pictures of Nathan in music class. One is from the Halloween class..which is why he's dressed as a fireman! The class always ends with bubbles, which all the kids love.

Please say a prayer.....

This morning after I got up and started to make my coffee, my phone rang. It was one of my best friends....I could tell something was wrong by the sound of her voice. She said, "have you talked to your family, are they ok?" I asked her why, what was wrong. She then told me about the tornados that hit Alabama. I immediatly hung up the phone and called my mom and dad..or at least I tried to. Their phone wasn't working at that time, so of course the worst ran through my head! Luckily I got in touch w/ my sister who told me they were all ok and had no damage. I received good news from that phone call, unfortunatly, that's not the case for so many others. The last I heard, over 50 people have been killed, many others are in hospitals, and many are without homes. These powerful storms that went through the south and midwest have affected many lives. I have a good friend who lost her new house, luckily she and her family are all ok. Please remember to say a prayer for these families that were affected by these terrible storms, and for those who are still searching for their families. They will be in my thoughts and prayers!
