Time passing by......very fast!

So, it's the last week of January, and where has the time gone? I have thought of lots to blog about, then time passes, and I forget.... "What time is it"?? :-)
First off, I talked to a very good friend of mine today that I rarely get to talk to and I told her I would post some new pics of Nathan. She hasn't seen him since he was 3 months old! It's been too long!! So here are some recent pics of Nathan.....in the SNOW!!! YAY, we got snow in Georgia! I was very excited to see snow, I have really missed that since leaving Maryland. It was Nathan's first snow!

Doesn't he look so excited to be in the snow!!! HAHA He doesn't like to wear a coat or hat, so having to wear both, really didn't make him happy!! LOL He finally started enjoying the snow, once I showed him how to make a snowball that he could throw!

He really enjoyed watching it from inside the house! As the days went on, our snowman (he referred to it as "Frosty") began to melt. Nathan would go outside and look at him and say, "Oh no, "Frosty's" melting", and he would tell "Frosty" bye everytime we left the house. It was very cute.

We also went to the Aquarium again in January. Nathan's playgroup went one morning, and we all really enjoyed it! Nathan loves to go up to the large "fish tank" and stare at the fish.

The two other little cuties in this photo are his friends from playgroup. They have been together since he was 6 1/2 months old. They are all really great friends! (and their moms are wonderful friends of mine!)

Anyway, the month has seem to go by pretty fast, however there were definitly some slow days, like when dear husband was out of town. But for the most part, I don't know where the time has gone??

I have a lot of other topics I want to blog about, but just thought I would share some photos from our month of January. This blog also helps me remember what we did each month, so when I FINALLY get around to catching up my scrapbooks, I can look back and remember!! LOL

This next picture was of Nathan when we took him to Baltimore for one last visit before we moved from Maryland to Georgia. It was from November, 2005...he was 3 months old. This was what he looked like when my dear friend, (that I mentioned at the start of this blog), last saw him. And the last picture is, of course, what he looks like now....we really need to get together more often!!

Powerful message from God

http://www.rickandbubba.com/
Please click on the above website for a powerful message from God! Rick Burgess, of the "Rick and Bubba" radio show, lost his 2yr old son this week. Even through all the pain he and his family are going through right now, he was able to speak about a loving God. That's what the power of God will do for you!
There are 3 parts, about 30 minutes total. It's worth listening to all of it!
Such a sad tragedy, but a very powerful message!
My heart goes out to he and his family, and my prayers are with them.

Running....

So, I need some help! What's up with all the running?? My 2 1/2 yr. old wants to run ALL the time! I understand it's great exercise and all, but when I tell him to stop he DOESN'T listen?? I need to know what you other moms out there have done for this! It's ok when we're outside in the fenced in backyard, or at another contained area where he can't get lost or into trouble. But he chooses to run when he doesn't need to, like away from me in a busy aquarium, or through the church hallway, in the driveway towards the road, etc. I look around and see other kids his age not running, and stopping when their moms tell them to, so what's up w/ my child?? Where did I go wrong?? He's gotten in trouble many times for running and not stopping when I tell him to, but he continues to do it, and he knows he's not supposed to! Like I said earlier, I know he's a toddler and they like to run and see what they can get away with. I'm just a nervous wreck at times thinking he will get hurt or someone will grab him. So, I need some solutions that worked with your children in getting them to listen when you told them to stop! Any ideas?? :-)

Healthy Eating Quest...

Hello all! One of my new year's resolutions was to start eating and cooking healthier and more interesting meals. I've been enjoying trying new recipes so far this year, such as the "tequila lime turkey tenderloins w/ cilantro rice and spiced up black beans" that my "mommy2alex" friend sent me! (it turns into turkey enchiladas the next night!) And, I've been making more recipes out of the "Deceptively Delicious" cookbook by Jessica Seinfield.
Nathan used to love all veggies and fruits, til he was about 20 months old, then things changed. He still loves fruits, all kinds, just not so much veggies. He enjoys peas, green beans, field peas, butterbeans, and corn, but not sweet potatoes, broccoli, or squash. So on my quest to find more veggies that he will eat, I now have the "Deceptively Delicious" cookbook. He LOVES the French toast made w/ pumpkin, as does the entire family! It's yummy! The homemade fruit popsicles are a hit too........3 ingredients, easy, delicious, and healthy! This cookbook requires a lot of pureeing, which I do in a blender.....my NEW blender. I actually got 2 blenders for Christmas because I mentioned I needed a new one to my mom and husband, so I ended up w/ 2........and 2 coffee pots, but that's another story! LOL
So far we're doing pretty good on this "resolution". I highly recommend the above mentioned cookbook. And if anyone out there has a good recipe, feel free to send it my way!

Happy New Year!

What time is it?? Oh my, it's already 2008!! And I'm already behind!! I haven't taken down the Christmas decorations, put up gifts, figured out what to do w/ all the "stuff" in the playroom, OR caught up laundry from our trip to AL!! And, what am I doing......blogging!! LOL
This weekend I'm going to get busy w/ getting these things in order! I also want to start back on my scrapbooks, ( I'm on the 2nd day home from the hospital w/ Nathan) HAHA!! I guess since he's two, you could say I'm WAY behind!!
New Years Eve we spent a quiet night at home ( or as quiet as it can be w/ a 2 yr old running around-haha), ordered Outback, watched the ball drop, and listened to and watched the fireworks in the neighborhood. It was nice to just relax after a busy Christmas week!
I hope you all have a wonderful New Year filled with good health, and lots of happiness!

Picture Help Needed!!

Hello all! Ok, I obviously need some help posting pictures! I will insert them where I think they should go, or try to put in a picture, then type above it what it is, but it never works! UGH! It always goes to the center top of my blogs?? Anyone have any suggestions??? Thanks!!

Christmas...

Well, Christmas came and went, and now it's a new year! We had a good Christmas, here at home and in our travels! We decided to stay home this year so Nathan could have Santa at his own house...it was great! We had a lot of fun putting out reindeer food, making cookies for Santa, watching The Polar Express for the hundreth time, etc! We got up Christmas morning, opened presents and ate breakfast, then packed up and went to Alabama to my parents house that afternoon. When I told Nathan that Santa came, he expected him to be downstairs! He went off looking for him, then finally noticed his presents....he didn't know what to open first! He got the hang of opening gifts, but really just wanted to play w/ whatever he opened and not open the next one. It was a lot of fun! Now, if I could just find a place to put everything!
We went to my parents house Christmas night, then my grandmothers the next day AND my husbands family's house that night.....whew, busy day!
I love to go to AL, but sometimes I get a little stressed out b/c I want to see everyone, but never have time to do that. I always miss seeing our family and friends and try to get in as much as we can, but we always miss someone. But we did get to see a lot of people this time, and I'll catch those that I didn't get to see on the next trip....hopefully!
Here are some photos of our Christmas! Enjoy!
