The Pink Pig!

If any of you live in the Atlanta area, (or have lived in, or passed thru), I'm sure you have heard of The Pink Pig! Nathan and I went to ride this Holiday tradition on Friday, the Friday before Christmas.......what was I thinking????Priscilla is this pigs name, and she's pink. She is loved by everyone! :-) It is basically a pig shaped "train" that is in a tent outside Macy's at Lenox Square. She goes on an oval track thru a pink tinted tent and a pink tunnel, and almost all the decorations are pink! Now since pink is my favorite color, I was happy with all the pink. Nathan had a ball! He loved it! We stood in line for over an hour...he did very good thru this. He loves trains, he loves pigs, and he loves to ride rides........so of course he LOVED it!! I went ahead and bought 3 rides because I knew it was a short ride and he wouldn't want to get off. So after the 3 rides, he was one happy little boy! So, we rode The Pink Pig, did some shopping, got something to eat, and sat in traffic for a very, very long time. (we left the mall at 4:00 on a Friday!!....again, what was I thinking??) It took us about 2 hours to get home. (normally it would take about 35 mins) Thankfully, Nathan took a nap the entire time we were in the car. He was one tired little boy! Even with the traffic and the crowds, we still enjoyed our day....a lot! I highly recommend this "Atlanta Tradition" to anyone w/ kids!

Birthday Fun.....

Well, let me back up a little bit, my husbands birthday was last week. We had a dear friend ready to watch Nathan for us while we enjoyed a quiet night out to celebrate his birthday, but, Nathan was sick! Our friend has 2 children and we definitly didn't want to get anyone else sick, especially right here at Christmas, so we decided to stay in. I made one of his favorite dishes, steak fajitas, and Nathan and I got him a birthday cake. We had our dinner and cake, and opened his present. It was fun, Nathan LOVES to blow out candles on a cake, so he completely enjoyed himself! And, the cake had fake balloons on it, which Nathan pulled off the sticks and made balls out of them! My husband and I enjoyed everything too! Sometimes staying in can be just as much fun as going out!

sick, sick, sick.......

OK, so with the weather outside (previous blog-72degrees), and now this week w/ 50's, we're a little sick. Nathan's been coughing for what seems like a month, however it got worse this week. So again, I took him to the dr. (they now seriously think I'm just a very paranoid first time mom who carries her child to the dr. for every cough). I don't do that, but I'm sure they think that, since the dr. said "well, this is the 2nd time you've brought him in for this cough" (don't they know coughs can turn into bronchitis, croup, sinus infection, etc????)!! The usual conversation goes something like this w/ the nurse, "has he had a fever? no, what color is his mucus, clear, oh, ok". She walks out the dr. walks in , listens to him, then says he's fine, I think he has allergies????? WHAT??? This child is usually never sick, doesn't cough all the time, etc. This is the first mention of allergies (probably b/c I've carried him in twice for this same cough). So, they give us allergy medicine, not good. I don't like him to be on medicine unless he absolutly needs it. This medicine wires him for a good 2 hours, bouncing off the walls, etc. Then makes him very, very drowsy the next day. AND, it hasn't helped his cough at all!!!! So, in "Dr. Roland's" opinion, he doesn't have allergies, he has a cough! Since the medicine he's on is a 24 hr medicine, I'm not supposed to give him anything else. So he is still coughing, coughing! With Christmas right around the corner, I need him to get better!! And, wouldn't you know it, this morning I woke up w/ a stuffy nose, coughing! UGH!!!! This seems to happen every year!
Oh my, what time is it?? I have a thousand errands to run, presents to wrap, and a house to clean......did I mention groceries???

Fun times had by all!!

Whew, this is a lot of posting!! Last week my parents came for a quick visit. We had a lot of fun times........ looking at local Christmas lights, going shopping, going to Callaway Gardens for their "Fantasy in Lights", getting my laundry caught up!! LOL (my laundry was severly behind, so I tried to hide that from my mom, she found it, and we worked on it the entire time they were here, thanks mom!)

Nathan always loves it when Nana and Papaw come to visit! He won't let them sit for one minute, he constantly wants to play w/ them, they love it too!

So one night we went to Callaway Garden's to see their "Fantasy in Lights".....it was great! They had a ton of lights! They also had a Christmas village set up w/ lots of Christmas trees, and things for the kids....including Santa! Nathan chose not to sit in Santa's lap this time, but he sat in Brian's lap while he told Santa that he wanted Geotrax for Christmas. :-) We're going to try another Santa soon and see if that works out better! Anyway, back to the lights. We chose to drive our own car thru b/c it was cold and we didn't know how well Nathan would do on an "open-air" trolley for an hour. They have different scenes set up w/ music that coincides w/ the theme. They had owls that looked as though they "flew off" into the sky, Nathan kept saying hoo-hoo. He really enjoyed it, and so did we!!

Decorating the tree

So, we get home from the tree farm w/ our tree and everyone's so tired, we all take a nap!! After Nathan finishes napping we decide to start decorating. I was thinking Nathan would really be into this year b/c he's so into Christmas. However, he still just wanted to play w/ the "balls".....which are actually my Christmas ornaments! We let him try to decorate w/ a few non-breakable ornaments first, then he went off to play, and I finished decorating. I hope you enjoy the pictures!

It's Christmas Time!!

It's that time of year again, time to visit the Christmas Tree Farm! I love going to tree farms, finding that "perfect", (or not so perfect), tree. We have bought a real tree every year we've been married except twice. (we've been married 9 yrs) This year we have 2 trees, one for Nathan-artificial, one for family room-real. I was on a mission this year to find a great tree farm.... you know, the kind w/ apple cider, hayrides, petting zoo, etc. I found one, minus the apple cider, Worthington Tree Farm. The workers were very friendly and helpful! They had hayrides, petting zoo, a large selection of trees, and a GIANT Haystack the kids could climb up, then jump off. WOW, Nathan loved it!!! We went with some friends of ours here, they have a little girl who is in Nathan's playgroup. They love hanging out w/ each other! We had a great time.....til it came time to pick out a tree!! :-) We go thru this every year, I take too long to pick one out, which of course doesn't make Brian happy. Oh well, we finally decided on one, got it loaded and off we go to decorate!

I'm a little behind....

Well, I said I was going to be finished w/ my Christmas shopping by now, but yet again, I'm not! Oh well, I don't have that much more to do. I'm also behind on birthday presents, baby presents, cards, etc! I also have so much to blog about, (Christmas tree farm, decorating tree, why there are so many "kiddy rides" at the malls???, Callaway Gardens, etc), but just haven't been able to find the time lately! The Holiday's are so busy, but I really love it!!
Nathan is loving Christmas this year, he's really getting into it! He loves to see the Christmas lights! We are so blessed to have him in our life. No matter how many times I have to say "Nathan no", "Nathan stop", he is still such a blessing!
What time is it?? Oh my, it's getting closer to lunch/naptime and I still need to run a TON of errands!! I'll try to "catch up" with my blogging and pictures later today or this weekend!
Gotta run!!

72 degrees?????

Ok, today is December 8th, and it's 72degrees outside!!!!!!!! What's up w/ that, is it global warming or just the fact that I live in Georgia????? Remember, I said it's DECEMBER, it's not supposed to be 72 in December!!! I know, I know, some people love it. I LOVE SEASONS!!! And this is an in between season, I think. How are you supposed to get in a Christmas mood wearing shorts and flip flops (ok, that's not what I'm wearing, but I could). :-)
I talked to two of my friends from Maryland the other day, and it was snowing, ahhh...i miss that. Never thought I would say that I miss snow, especially when back in the day, I had to drive to work in it, take 2 hrs to get there and 2 hrs back, and be sliding thru red lights the entire way! LOL I know...it wasn't that bad, but being from the south, I wasn't accustomed to driving in snow. But, it grew on me, and I grew to LOVE it!!!
Please don't get me wrong, I enjoy letting Nathan play outside while the weather is pretty, etc. But, with Christmas right around the corner, I would just like a little bit of the cold stuff!
Gee, what time is it??? I have 2 Christmas parties to be at tonight in 3 hrs, 2 appetizers to make, 2 more dozen cookies to bake, presents to wrap, not to mention getting ready!!! YIKES!! Gotta run!!

about the name of my blog....

Just thought I would give you a little bit of background on why I chose the title of my blog, "What time is it??". As many of you know, I run late a lot, sorry, I'm working on it daily! So, I'm always asking "what time is it??". Usually I'm saying this to myself! LOL And, another reason I chose it is b/c time is such a huge part of my life, as it is everyone's life! My day goes a little something like this.......Is it already time for Nathan to wake up, is it time for Nathan's lunch, is it time for Nathan's nap, is it time for dinner, is it time to read (we do this all day), is it time for Brian to be home, is it time for bath/bed?? Oh yeah, and a new favorite, "is it time for SuperWhy to come on???" (nathan's new favorite show)
There are also those days that we don't really care what time it is, we just go w/ the flow and have fun!!!!
So, seeing how time is such an important part of our life, I thought I would title my blog, "What time is it??"
Oh my, "What time is it??" Nathan's awake!! LOL

And so it begins.......

Hi everyone! I decided to start this blog to keep my friends and family up to date w/ the latest happenings in our life! And to "type" what I'm thinking instead of talking everyone's head off!!LOL
It's funny, I'm a talker, love to talk, however, right now I can't think of too much to say??
I'll start w/ "it's that time of year"! I went shopping today for Christmas presents while Nathan was at Mother's Morning Out. Found a lot of great things, some things on sale, some not. I promised myself I would get my shopping done early this year. Many of you that know me, know I'm a late Christmas shopper, you'll find me in the stores sometimes on Christmas Eve! Not because I don't know what I want to buy, but b/c if I have it, I'll end up giving it to you before Christmas b/c I can't keep a gift and not give it away!! But, Last year was stressful, so I decided to get it done early this year! I'll keep you updated on when I finish my shopping this year!! HA
Oh, "what time is it??" gotta run!
